An oral history of Sister M. Caroline Lager, a Sister of Charity of Seton Hill from 1910 until 1990. The interview was conducted by Sister Marie Corona Miller on June 9, 1986.
Sister Caroline Lager - born Emily Catherine Elisabeth Lager on March 28, 1887 - entered the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill in December of 1910. She served as an elementary school teacher in Pittsburgh area Catholic schools. Locations she taught at include Sacred Heart Elementary School in Pittsburgh from 1943-1957, St. Theresa School in Munhall from 1957-1961, St. Mary Magdalen School in Homestead from 1961-1962, St. Luke Elementary School in Carnegie from 1962-1967, and St. Philip School in Crafton from 1967-1972. The in-house dental center at Assumption Hall in Greensburg was named after her. Sister Caroline died on January 18, 1990.
