An oral history of Sister Mary Giles Brandt, a Sister of Charity of Seton Hill from 1934 until 2014. The interview was conducted by Sister Marie Corona Miller on August 29, 1987.
Sister Mary Giles Brandt - born Regina Josephine Brandt on April 30, 1917 - entered the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill on March 25, 1934. She received a bachelor's degree in education from Duquesne University in 1952 and a master's degree in elementary administration from Xavier University in 1968. She served as Principal of Visitation School in Johnstown, followed by terms as Principal at Holy Innocents in Sheraden, Pennsylvania and at St. Pancratius School in Lakewood, California. Her nephew is Bishop Emeritus Lawrence E. Brandt, former bishop of the Diocese of Greensburg. Sister Mary Giles died on March 18, 2014.
