Mission Statement
The Archives of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill has as its mission the documentation of the history and charism of the congregation in relation to:
- Founders and Patrons
- Membership
- Community Life
- Governance/Administration
- Temporalities
- Apostolic Ministries
- Education
- Religious Education
- Evangelization
- Health Care
- Social Service
- Pastoral Ministry
- Diversified Ministries
By appropriate preservation of the records of the Congregation, the Archives also contributes to:
- the history of the Church in the United States, especially in those dioceses in which the Sisters of Charity serve or have served
- the history of women religious in the United States
- the history of the Church in other countries where the Sisters of Charity serve or have served (Korea, China, Israel, et al.)
- local history in the State of Pennsylvania, where the mother house of the Congregation is located, and in other places where Sisters of Charity reside and serve
