An oral history of Sister M. Eugene O'Donnell, a Sister of Charity of Seton Hill from 1932 until 2007. The interview was conducted by Sister Marie Corona Miller on March 16, 1988.
Sister M. Eugene O'Donnell - born Gertrude O'Donnell on November 21, 1913 - entered the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill in March of 1932. She received a bachelor's degree in English and German from the University of Pittsburgh in 1943 and received a master's degree in religion from Providence College in 1953. She taught in the west at Salpointe High School from 1950-1959; she then taught in Pittsburgh-area schools, including at St. Anselm Elementary School from 1959-1961, Holy Innocents School from 1961-1966, and at Sacred Heart High School from 1966-1968. She then served as Religious Education Coordinator in the Diocese of Greensburg for a number of years, concentrating on adult religious education. Sister M. Eugene O'Donnell died on April 19, 2007.
