An oral history of Sister Marie Martha Randall, a Sister of Charity of Seton Hill from 1930 until 1986. The interview was conducted by Sister Virginia Pascaretta on May 12, 1984.
Sister Marie Martha Randall was born on July 7th, 1900 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Daughter of Jacob Norton Randall and Mary Catherine Keenan, Martha Gertrude Randall entered the community on September 8th, 1930 at the age of 30 as Sister Marie Martha Randall.
Sister Marie Martha Randall was a Professor in the Education Department at Seton Hill College from 1955 to 1967. She taught Visual Education at Seton Hill College during Summer Sessions from 1938 to 1967. She taught at various schools: Holy Innocents, St. Anselm, Elizabeth Seton High School, St. John the Evangelist in Tucson, and Immaculate Conception School in Irwin, Pa.
Sister Marie Martha Randall received her B.S. in Education and a Minor in History and English from the University of Pittsburgh in 1934. Then, in 1940, she received her M.E. in Education and a Minor in Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh. She would go on to taking summer session courses at Penn State University for Education in 1945 and summer session courses at Seton Hill College for an area of study in the Bible in 1967.
Sister Marie Martha Randall passed on December 9th, 1986 at the age of 86.
