An oral history of Sister Jean Frances Peters, a Sister of Charity of Seton Hill from 1931 until 1999. The interview was conducted by Sister Brigid Marie Grandey on October 16, 1987.
Sister Jean Frances Peters was born on July 7th, 1912 in Yukon, Pa. Daughter of Otto Peters and Margaret Gillespie, Grace Mildred Peters entered the community on December 8th, 1931 at the age of 18 as Sister Jean Frances Peters.
Sister Jean Frances was a primary school teacher for 5 years, an intermediate teacher for 15 years, and an upper elementary teacher for 20 years. She taught at Sacred Heart from 1952 to 1958. She also taught at St. Teresa, Munhall; St. Luke, Carnegie; summer sessions at SS Peter & Paul, Tucson, Arizona. She received her B. Ed. in Elementary Education from Duquesne University in 1949. Her Final Procession was on May 17th, 1949.
Sister Jean Frances Peters passed on November 20th, 1999 at the age of 87.
