Blatt, Sister Mary Frederick

An oral history of Sister Mary Frederick Blatt, a Sister of Charity of Seton Hill from 1932 until 2003. The interview was conducted by Sister Virginia Pascaretta on January 29, 1984 and February 5, 1984.

Sister Mary Frederick Blatt - born Mary Clare Blatt on March 1, 1915 - entered the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill in September of 1932. She received a medical technologist degree and took a correspondence course in hospital purchasing. She served as the medical technologist at Pittsburgh Hospital until 1948 and as laboratory at Providence Hospital from 1948-1964. She later served as purchasing director at Assumption Hall. Her sister was Judge Genevieve Blatt. Sister Mary Frederick died on April 13, 2003.
